Arsenal are being linked with a move for Torino striker Alessio Cerci.
With Olivier Giroud suffering a year ending ankle injury away to Everton last weekend the Gunners appear light up-front.
Wenger only has Yaya Sanogo and Joel Campbell on his books while Alexis Sanchez is also able to operate as a striker. With Champions league football now secure the French man might need more firepower despite his insistence otherwise.
The club have been linked with a number of players in the last few days most notably Edinson Cavani however the newest star linked with a move to the Emirates is Cerci.
27 year old left footer predominately plays as a second striker but is comfortable playing through the middle or on the wings. Last scored he really rose to prominence scoring 13 goals and assisting 12.
However his rise in popularity means that Arsenal won’t have it their own if they pursue a transfer with Italian star with Roma also keen on the player. Cerci spent time with the club at a youth player but failed to make the grade joining Fiorentina in 2010.
According to the Daily Mail, Southampton are also keen on the player while Atletico have ruled out a bid for the star.
Everton and Manchester United are also oddly enough being linked with the player despite both appearing to having an abundance of attacking options. The Toffee’s recently added Samuel Eto’o to their ranks while United splashed £59.7 million for Argentine International Angel di Maria.
Cerci has yet to score in 13 appearances for the Italian national team and was part of the squad that failed to exit the group stages in Brazil where he featured once.
