The Gameweek 22 deadline is approaching fast and I’m sure FPL bosses are ready to execute on their respective transfer plans. To help you with those tough decisions, we try to provide insights on the players you are thinking about. We will tell you whether we think a player is Cash from a fantasy point of view i.e. get him into your lineup; or Trash meaning you need to get rid of him immediately. Here @Beingstalin #FPLWarrior looks at Stoke City’s Joe Allen.

Joe Allen had a brilliant run in Euro’16 for his country and had a similar impact for his Premier League club when the season started. He has already scored 5 goals this season which is exactly the same number of goals he had scored in past 3 seasons put together. His current price is £5.3m, his TSB is 12.3% and he has played the more minutes than any other Stoke City so far. That all sounds good, but I am going to tell you why it is now time to DUMP him.
He had a brilliant run in first 10 GWs but from GW11 onwards he has been quite ordinary in terms of FPL returns. He has only one assist to his name in last 10 GWs which is alarming.
Mark Hughes played Allen in a more advanced role when the season started and Allen did not disappoint the gaffer. But now Marko Arnautovic is back from an injury setback and partnering Peter Crouch as forward options. Veteran Charlie Adam and Shaqiri are back in the squad hence Allen has been pushed back to a defensive midfield role. Now that he has dropped deep on the pitch, his attacking potential has diminished.
Stoke City’s next five fixtures are against Man Utd (H),Everton (H),West Brom (A),Crystal Palace (H) Spurs(A).
If you notice the fixture Stoke City will find it difficult to score against all of those teams, apart from perhaps Crystal Palace. Everton, in their last 3 Premier League games have kept 2 clean sheets and Koeman would definitely like to continue the momentum.

At £5.3 he isn’t someone who would hurt you much but when you look at other available options around 5m then you start to ponder. Stanislas (BOU) at £5.2m or Albrighton (LEI) £5m in the absence of Riayd Mahrez are solid options. If you can afford to go a little more expensive, then you can even afford get in Matty Phillips or Alex Iwobi.
So folks time to sort out that cheapest midfielder option and maximise FPL points.
