It was just two days agao that I compiled yhe gameweek 19 article and it’s already gameweek 20! The new year FPL schedule is jam-packed with back to back matches which is exciting as well as scary for the Fantasy football managers. I say it’s scary because of the high rotation risks that may happen in this period which will make the captain decision even more tough.

Let us look at the in-form captain picks from last gameweek:

Obvious pick : Zlatan Ibrahimovic : 5 points
#CoreCaptain : Diego Costa : 6 points
Risky pick : Romelu Lukaku : 2 points

As I mentioned earlier about the back to back gameweeks, managers might drop their key players on the bench due to fatigue concerns, so mostly every player’s starting XI position is under threat for GW20.

With this risk, I am naming Alexis Sanchez as the Obvious pick of the week. I agree that he will be getting only two days rest after GW19, but we all know what a machine he is. Alexis has a splendid away record this season with 9 goals scored away from Emirates stadium. Sanchez has been directly involved in 20 goals (12 goals 8 assists) this season in just 19 matches; splendid figures.

I am backing him to perform well against Bournemouth tomorrow, not only because of my gut feeling but also because I have been watching his offensive game and final third ball touches.

The #CoreCaptain of the week is Christian Benteke who plays a home game against Swansea City; a team that leaks goals in good amounts. Benteke has been quite in terms of FPL recently, although, an easy home game can provide a good opportunity to the Belgian to kickstart his form for the upcoming easy fixtures for Crystal Palace.

In a gameweek that could be littered with rest and rotation concerns, the Risky pick for GW20 is Alexander Kolarov. Defenders usually don’t get benched and this man is a key player for Pep Guordiola’s team. Kolarov had the highest shots in the last game (3); showing his attacking prowess to either score or assist. Alexander Kolarov comes in the Top 10 defenders list for Shots and Successful final third passes. An easy matchup against Burnley this gameweek assures high probability for a Man City clean sheet.

I wish you all a very Happy new year and a great start to the second half of #FPL season. Update on my personal team is that I was saved by the heroics of Iwobi, Sanchez and Kane; raising my Overall rank to 16K at the end of gameweek 19.
