The Premier League fixtures are coming thick and fast and there’s another round of fantasy football to look forward to this weekend. Next up it’s a round of matches on December 30, New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, which will incorporate all 20 Premier League teams. Here are our picks for the star Forward, Midfielder and Defender in Gameweek 19.
Forward Tip: Romelu Lukaku
Ask for a forward option this week and you have all kickass strikers available for action. Romelu Lukaku (HULL), Sergio Aguero (LIV) & Diego Costa (STK) all set to sizzle in match week 19. Sergio Aguero is back from his four games suspension and raring to go against Liverpool a team which he loves to score against. Diego Costa, the leading scorer in Premier League this season is back after his 1 game suspension for receiving fifth yellow card of the season. He will be facing Stoke City who have conceded 6 goals in last 2 games. Romelu Lukaku finally broke his barren spell in front of goal and scored against Leicester City. Similarly Harry Kane added one more goal to his tally against Southampton after blanking in his last 3 games. But, our tip up front would be Romelu Lukaku for this match week.
His form in away games has been very good so far. He scored a brace away against Watford and one against Leicester City. He is up against Hull City who has shipped in 10 goals in last 4 games, 3 goals each in 3 games against City, Spurs and Palace. At £9.4m he won’t hurt your pocket much and the remaining money you can invest in a premium midfielder. Everton’s next 10 fixtures are the kindest of all, Manchester City at Home and Spurs away are the only tough ones.
Midfielder Tip: Henrikh Mkhitaryan
Heavy hitting midfield generals are bossing the season so far but by now more than 2million managers own the likes of Sanchez, Hazard, Mane, Eriksen & Gylfi. So if you want to plan an ambush on your mini league opponent during this festive season then we would suggest you to look at Henrikh Mkhitaryan. Delving into Mkhitaryan’s underlying statistics from last season, when he scored 11 goals and registered 15 assists in 31 league appearances, he impressively managed a shot every 31.8 minutes – superior to both Rooney (35.1) and Martial (48.6). The Armenian also led the way for key passes among the trio, averaging one every 31.1 minutes, compared to every 56 minutes for Rooney and every 71.1 minutes for Martial. He had a tough start to this season at Manchester United but slowly he is getting into Jose’s plan and looks like a regular now. His scorpion kick goal in last game was a gentle reminder of his class. So it’s better to snap him now and reap good benefits.

Defender Tip: Leighton Baines
Kyle Walker and Jan Vertonghen picked up their fifth yellow cards of the season during Wednesday’s match against Southampton, and they will be suspended this weekend. So priority now is to bring in someone who can be as effective as those Spurs defenders. We would like to suggest one of the most popular FPL warriors of past seasons, Leighton Baines. He missed October and most of November due to a hamstring injury but since starting against Swansea he has been a key player for Koeman. Baines converted a penalty kick and added four interceptions, three crosses and two tackles in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester United. The former Wigan man also won two aerial duels, put in three crosses and earned an assist in Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over Arsenal. Add to that a clean sheet acheived against Leicester City. Fixtures are smiling on Everton for the next 10 games and the fullback being on penalties makes him even more appealing.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year in advance. Enjoy with family and friends.
