Its fair to say that Gameweek 8 will live long in the nightmares of many FPL managers, with missed penalties, captain fails and unexpected starting lineups causing torment for many gaffers. Whilst the likes of Southampton duo Charlie Austin and Nathan Redmond, as well as Watford defender/winger Jose Holebas saved many gameweeks with goalscoring displays, those who relied on Sergio Aguero or even Heung-Min Son were left feeling distinctly unhappy.

With the midweek Champions League games in mind, both were rested to begin their games, and although hope was re-lit when the Argentine was introduced in the second half, that hope was doused with a massive bucket of cold water as he proceeded to miss a penalty kick…. ending with a negative -1 total for his afternoon’s effort.

With all the drama, FPL fans will be especially keen to hear the thoughts of the best fantasy experts in the FPL community as they join the legendary Dave O’Grady on the Fanfeud couch! This week we have Ben Dinnery, a freelance Injury Data Analyst, founder of the Premier Injuries Website and writer at He is a contributor to BT Sport, ESPN, talkSPORT and BBC 5 Live amongst others.

Joining him is the FPL Coach from and Fanfeud’s own fantasy writer @FPLJesus. The show was produced by Chorley Rocks of

The topics discussed on this week’s show:

  • Stoke have great fixtures, but can we trust them? And should fantasy owners buy Joe Allen?

  • Charlie Austin… will he keep scoring given the upcoming fixtures?

  • What to do about Wally? Theo Walcott, indispensible?

  • For a player of supreme talent, Sergio Aguero is not exactly Jimmy Milner from the penalty spot. Should managers worry about his penalty misses?

  • West Ham’s Michail Antonio, a necessary casualty to make room for Son / Allen etc? Keep or sell?

  • Was the score at Bournemouth vs Hull a reflection of an improved Bournemouth or a threadbare Hull? Hull have great fixtures but rubbish form, can we trust them?

  • How will the upcoming return of Kane impact Son’s point returns

  • How did the RMT BOT do in Fanfeud’s free FPLELITE50 game, and who does it think will have a great GW9? Get your 5 player lineup in, and you can win a fantastic FPL shirt from!
